Dr. Apoorva Shekher is an Assistant Professor in the area of Business Communication at IIM Jammu. She received her doctoral degree in English Literature from the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT Ropar. Her doctoral thesis, "Rewriting the Victoriana: History, Memory, and Fiction in Select Neo-Victorian Novels,” explores the intersections of historiography, literary theory, and memory studies, with a particular focus on how contemporary fiction revisits and reimagines the Victorian past.
In 2024, she was selected as a Fellow at Cornell University’s School of Criticism and Theory, where she engaged with interdisciplinary approaches to environmental humanities as part of Prof. Stephanie LeMenager's cohort. Her academic interests span literature, cultural studies, memory studies, gender, and identity.
Beyond academia, she enjoys cooking, listening to Hindustani classical music, and is an enthusiastic tea drinker. Between her fourth and fifth cup of tea, she occasionally pauses to ruminate on masculinity, younger-sibling syndrome, and the many inexplicable quirks of the human psyche.
